Horizon Structures Partners with Boyd and Silva Martin at Windurra USA

February 2017

Horizon Structures is owned and operated by Lancaster County, PA native Dave Zook. Initially the company primarily constructed storage sheds and garages. Recognizing an ever-increasing demand for horse barns, run-in sheds and indoor riding arenas, Dave expanded his product line in the late 1990’s.

Horizon keeps an inventory of standard horse barns, stables, and run-in sheds in stock, each customizable to meet customers’ individual needs. Each Amish-made structure features a high level of craftsmanship and is built to last.

When Boyd and Silva Martin had to quickly move their horses to Windurra USA after a devastating barn fire, they turned to their neighbor, Horizon Structures, from whom they had purchased several used shed row barns as a quick solution to house their top event horses.

When Silva needed a first-class, affordable, pre-fabricated option to supplement the stalls in the main barn, Horizon Structures in weeks customized them with automatic waterers, ceiling fans, lights and big Dutch doors on both the front and back of each stall, giving horses a great view of the new farm.

Since then Horizon Structures has built the viewing pavilion and deck at Silva’s dressage ring and turn-out sheds throughout the farm.

In 2016 Boyd joined Dave on a tour of several recent indoor arena construction projects and was highly impressed by their work.

“I couldn’t believe the quality of their work,” he said. “I urge anyone who needs a quality, affordable indoor arena for year-round riding to contact the team at Horizon. I have been thoroughly impressed with the look and quality of the buildings and most importantly, the service we have received on each of our projects.”
