Harvest View Stables Focuses on the Fun Stuff

January 2018

“We do the fun stuff!” is not an empty slogan at Harvest View Stables, located in Manheim, just north of Lancaster County, PA. Harvest View hosts fun events at the barn for students of all levels, and travels regularly to numerous off-site competitions. “We have lots of fun in our agenda,” said owner Cindy Gilbert, who lists riding academy sessions, cross country schooling, horse shows, horse trials, fox hunting, and pace events as activities riders can participate in. In the fall and winter riders have the opportunity to ride with the Beaufort Hunt, and to participate in numerous on- and off-site clinics and shows.

Harvest View welcomes riders of any level who are interested in improving their horsemanship skills in a safe, friendly atmosphere. English lessons are offered daily with a focus on eventing. Riding academy sessions are offered over the summer and during school breaks. A jump field allows riders to hone their skills outside the arena while remaining in a confined space. An indoor arena enables lessons to continue year round.

In addition to skilled, experienced instructors, Harvest View offers regular clinics with upper level event riders such as Melissa Hunsberger and US Paralympic dressage coach and eventer Missy Ransehousen, as well as dressage instructor, Ashley Minéa.

Harvest View also offers boarding in an 18-stall barn with an attached indoor arena. Stalls are 12’x12’ or larger with rubber mats, heated buckets and Dutch doors to the outside. The barn has two hot and cold wash stalls and a heated tack room with restroom. Horses enjoy plenty of turnout in spacious pastures with horse-safe fencing. Beautiful trails provide ample opportunity for riding through the countryside.
